If your employer doesn't offer group health insurance, or if you're self-employed you can purchase your own individual coverage. Most insurance agents & brokers avoid helping individuals (too small), but we're happy to help you find the plan that includes your doctors and, as a Certified Covered California Agency, we'll help you figure out the income to estimate on your application for the Obamacare subsidy (the "Advance Premium Tax Credit" APTC).

It's your 65th birthday? Hooray, it's time for Medicare!

(For some reason a lot folks we talk to don't seem quite as excited as we are?)

The truth is that for people who are used to paying high premiums, Medicare can be a big boost in quality at a lower cost. But it sure doesn't feel that way at first- especially when confronted with so many confusing choices.

We help seniors and persons on disability (SSDI) to understand the pros & cons of Medicare Supplements ("MediGap") vs Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans, and to find a Prescription Drug plan that best fits a particular list of medications.

Think of dental insurance as your pre-paid motivator to get regular cleanings and to prevent cavities (or worse!) We can help you find a dental plan that already includes your dentist, and we can help navigate or avoid the "waiting periods" that most dental PPOs come with.  If you have a dentist that only accepts the "Delta Dental Premier" plan, you'll need our assistance!

Regular medical insurance covers diseases of the eye, but a separate vision plan can help pay for routine eye exams plus glasses or contacts.

US health plans may have some limited coverage for emergencies during international travel, but we can recommend more robust coverage.  The travel insurance that is offered by airlines/Expedia/etc. is usually trip interruption insurance; not medical insurance.  "Travel Medical & International Health Insurance” is different, and includes a network of English-speaking doctors, global health and safety services, and, depending on the plan, may even air-lift or helicopter you to a hospital if you’re in a remote location. There are usually some trip interruption benefits included as well.
